There's this short film in www.youtube.com with a title "The Bridge" which brought me to tears. And I want to share it to all of you,and hope you watch it for yourselves. This short film came from the movie "Most".
There's this man,who has a son. And, obviously, the father was fond of his little boy. His work was a bridgemaster. A bridgemaster is the person who lowers and raises the bridge where trains take their path to where their destination is.
Once, his son was waiting for the train to pass by. As he saw it approaching,he ran to one side part of the railroad, trying to pull a lever of some sort, but failed and fell. As his father saw as well the train,he also noticed his son fall to that pit.He saw his son crying, looking at him from a transparent wall,as this accident lead to a terrible decision.
It depends on him. It's either he lets all the people die in exchange for his son's life,or let them survive and sacrifice his only family left.
At first, seeing him decide between the two, I honestly thought he would rather save his son, which I perfectly knew the reason why.I understand if he did,'cause it's someone he truly loved. But at the end, I was wrong. He pulled down the lever, bringing the bridge to lower down as well, letting his son be crushed. It was a matter of choosing the right choice,or for his son to live.
I started crying then. It was unfair. His son's life in exchange for people who didn't even deserve it!The train was full of angry, hurting, addicted people. They weren't worth saving,!But then he still decided to choose them than choosing his sweet, kind son,who brought smiles to everyone, who was definitely innocent. And what bothered me the most, was the fact that he sacrificed his son for their lives, and they didn't even have a idea what was happening.
But after that incident, which I think was kept hidden from the world, something changed. It brought hope to the future. And somehow,I understood.
